With the capacity to hold three 5-litre bags of media, the modified refrigerator measures the amount of fluid remaining in each bag. When additional media is needed, the system will pause and prompt the operator.

Flow from each bag is controlled by a separate solenoid. At the end of each run, solenoids and lines to the dispenser are flushed with alcohol.

Temperature is typically adjusted to maintain media at 4° C and is monitored through the dispensing stage. Thermocouples notify the system of any changes from desired setting.
