High-Capacity Plate Carousel

Central to all Cytogration systems is the High-Capacity Plate Carousel. With programmable stepping, oscillation cycles and two-way communication interface, the Carousel is compatible with most any robotic arm.

Typically, one plate carousel is housed within each of the systems incubators. For added convenience on larger systems, additional carousels can be used in place of the standard aspiration tip rack, thereby increasing the number of tips available to the system.

The Carousel can be ordered in a variety of configurations and capacities to accommodate different types and styles of plates. For ease in loading, the Carousel can also be operated manually.

STANDARD CONFIGURATION

• Up to 168 plates per carousel
• Includes indexing motor drive and oscillation cycle.
• Approximate size: 24” in. high, 24” in. diameter
• Custom configurations and sizes are available

PROGRAMMING/INTERFACE

• Two-way RS-232 communication with the system computer
• Completely programmable
• Can also be operated manually

CAPABILITIES

• Selectable clockwise or counter-clockwise rotation
• Selectable and programmable speeds
• Selectable and programmable “shaking” or oscillating mode

• Optical sensors provide accurate stopping positions
• Controlled rotation will bring each of the columns to a common location for use with a robotic arm
